What you'll need

Do these in order

Everything on this page is on one screen, but the order matters. One setting is permanent, and one gates work you would otherwise try to do first.

1. Decide your work management mode. Do this first. It is permanent, and it changes what the rest of the product does with a failed inspection answer. See The one choice you cannot undo.
2. Turn on location hierarchy if your sites need internal structure such as Building, Floor or Line. Do it before you start mapping sites, because until it is on you cannot add locations at all.
3. Fill in your details — organisation name, phone, website. The name appears on inspection PDFs beside your logo.
4. Enable your content languages, if your teams work in more than one. This reveals translation fields throughout the app.
5. Set your formats — language, date format, time format, and time zone for the organisation.
6. Upload your logo under Custom branding.
7. Set priority-based due dates, so Low, Medium, High and Critical work gets a sensible default deadline.
8. Review notification defaults last, once the areas above exist to notify anyone about.

The one choice you cannot undo

Work management mode is the only setting here that can never be changed. Only the organisation owner can confirm it, it can be confirmed once, and after that the app offers no way to change it.

• Full work management — work stays in LambdaAssetCheck. Assignees record a root cause and a resolution when they finish, so root-cause and resolution analytics work.
• CMMS integration — work requests and orders are pushed to your external CMMS. No tasks are held here, and analytics show issue detection only.

Choose CMMS integration only if you already run a CMMS and intend to keep it as the system of record.

Turn on location hierarchy before you map your sites

Location hierarchy lets each site describe its own internal structure — Building, Floor, Line, and so on — which makes inspection routes and rounds far easier to build later.

The order matters, but not because anything becomes impossible:

1. While the organisation switch is off, you cannot add locations at all. The option is not offered, and the server rejects them.
2. Turn the organisation switch on first. Each site can then enable hierarchy and define its own levels.
3. Once any location exists, the organisation switch cannot be turned off — the server refuses with "Location hierarchy cannot be disabled while sites have location data."

You can turn it on at any time, so there is no way to strand yourself. Turning it back off means removing or migrating your existing locations first.

Limitations

• Organisation email is not editable. It shows the address of whoever created the organisation. Contact support to change it.
• Inspection rounds and single sign-on need Professional, and their sections are hidden entirely on a lower plan. They are not shown as locked, so if you cannot find them, check your plan under Billing.

Frequently asked questions

I picked the wrong work management mode. What now?

The app has no way to change it. Contact support — it needs correcting at the data level, and the right fix depends on how much work you have already recorded.

Why is the Legal & security notifications email showing the owner's address?

Because it currently displays the same value as Organisation owner email — there is no separate legal address to set. It is a known issue.
