Run your first inspection loop

Use one realistic pilot workflow to prove the loop before a wider rollout: turn a checklist into a template, inspect an asset, raise follow-up work, close the finding, and review what changed.

1. Prepare the checklist

Turn a paper checklist into a published template.

Open Templates and build the form. Add sections and questions, choose response types, and set scoring. Mark answers as actionable when a failed check should raise follow-up work. Publish the template before anyone tries to use it in the field.

2. Create the asset

Register the equipment you will inspect in the pilot.

Create the asset type and asset for your pilot (site, code, and any meters you need). Print or place the QR label if field users will scan to start. Without an asset (or site for audits), there is nothing to inspect.

Assets live under Assets → Manage Assets. Pair them with a published template for the asset type.

3. Inspect the asset

Run the template against a real asset or site.

Start from Inspections, or scan a QR label. Select the asset (or site for an audit), answer the questions, add photos or notes, and submit. Completed inspections can be reviewed and downloaded as standardised PDFs.

Field users complete inspections in the app, then review the submitted record and PDF afterward.

4. Act on what you found

Turn failed checks into follow-up work or flags.

A failed asset inspection can raise work. Audits can raise flags. Open Work Management to see what needs attention and filter by type, status, priority, or assignee.

Use Work Management to keep findings moving after the inspection is submitted.

5. Close the finding

Assign the work, complete tasks, and record closure details.

Open the request or order, review the evidence, assign the right person, add tasks if needed, and move the status forward. When the fix is done, record root cause and resolution so later trends stay useful.

Closing work with structured details keeps the improvement loop measurable.

6. Analyze the trends

Use Home and Analytics to see what is changing.

Home gives a live summary of tasks, incidents, and flag health. Use Analytics when you need deeper charts and dashboards across inspections, work, assets, and incidents.

Home helps teams see what needs attention; Analytics helps leaders go deeper.
