I cannot see a site's data
See the site's assets, inspections, and tasks by matching your role's site scope to the sites on your user.

What you'll need
| Tier | Any plan |
| Platform | Web app |
| Permission | You need none to view your own sites. Changing assignments needs the Users capability. Changing a role's site scope needs Permissions. Owner and Administrator have both by default. |
| Where | The empty list, then Administration → Users / Groups / Sites → Users and Administration → Roles |
Work through these checks
- Confirm whether you are an Owner or an Administrator. Those roles see operational data for every site. A missing site for them means the site or its records were not created, not that access was narrowed.
- For any other role, open the role under Administration → Roles and check Choose permissions → Site data access. Organisation-wide operational data (all sites) shows assets, inspections, tasks, and other site-scoped data across the organisation. Leave it unchecked and the person sees assigned sites only.
- Ask an owner or administrator to open Users, find you, and select Actions, then Manage sites. Check the site and select Save. You can also set Sites while creating the user.
- Reopen the list. With no sites assigned, assets, inspections, and tasks come back empty. A site saved on the user is included on the next load.
- If the site is assigned and the list is still thin, check View own / involved only on that module. It keeps records you created or are assigned to, and hides the rest, even at a site you can open.
- A page titled Access Forbidden, with Go to Dashboard and Go Home, is a missing capability, not a missing site. Use A page says I do not have permission.
Limitations
- Group membership does not grant site access. Sites are assigned on the user.
- Organisation-wide operational data (all sites) does not replace module permissions. The role still needs access to assets, inspections, or tasks.
- Owner and Administrator stay organisation-wide. Clearing site assignments on those users does not hide other sites.
- An empty organisation has nothing to show until someone creates the site. See Create a site.
Frequently asked questions
I can sign in, but every operational list is empty.
Your role is limited to assigned sites and none are on your user. An administrator uses Manage sites and Save. Until then those lists stay empty.
I see my site, but not a colleague's inspections there.
View own / involved only is on for that module. An administrator with Permissions turns it off on the role if you should see every record at your sites.
The site is not in Manage sites.
It has not been created, or it belongs to another organisation. An administrator creates it first. You cannot assign a site from outside your organisation.
