Install the app on a phone or tablet

Add LambdaAssetCheck to the home screen of a phone or tablet so field work opens full screen from an icon.

What you'll need

Tier	Any plan

Permission	None. Sign in with the account your administrator created.
Where	Your organisation's LambdaAssetCheck URL, served over HTTPS

There is nothing to get from an app store. The phone or tablet installs from the browser you already use, and keeps itself up to date while you are online.

A laptop or desktop uses a different path. See Install the app on your device.

Install on iPhone or iPad

Use Safari.

Open Safari, go to your organisation's URL, and sign in.
Tap the Share button — the square with an upward arrow.
Scroll the share sheet and tap Add to Home Screen.
Confirm the name, then tap Add.

Expected result: A LambdaAssetCheck icon appears on the Home Screen and opens full screen.

Install on Android

Use Chrome on the phone or tablet.

Open Chrome, go to your organisation's URL, and sign in.
Open the browser menu (⋮).
Tap Install app, then confirm.

Choose Install app when the menu also shows Add to Home screen. Add to Home screen creates a shortcut. Its icon carries a small Chrome badge and it opens in a tab. Remove that icon and install again with Install app.

Expected result: A LambdaAssetCheck icon appears in the app drawer and opens full screen. Android can also add shortcuts named Start Inspection and Dashboard.

Installing does not put inspections, tasks, or site data on the device. Save that copy while you still have a signal. See Prepare your device for offline use.

Limitations

The install option only appears over HTTPS. If your organisation's URL is not secure, the browser will not offer to install.
Chrome and other browsers on iPhone or iPad do not offer Add to Home Screen. Use Safari.
Each phone, tablet, and browser installs separately. Installing on a phone does not install it on a tablet or a laptop.
A pinned browser tab is not an install. It still opens inside the browser, with tabs and an address bar.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use LambdaAssetCheck without installing it?

Yes. The same pages work in a normal browser tab. Installing adds the home-screen icon and a full-screen window for field work.

How do I remove it?

Remove the icon the same way you remove any other app. Your account and your data are not affected.

Does installing let me work with no signal?

No. Installing adds the icon and the full-screen window. Saving forms and recent work is a separate step, and it has to finish before you lose signal.
