Install the app on your device

Add LambdaAssetCheck to your desktop, taskbar, or home screen so it opens in its own window and is ready for field work.

There is nothing to get from an app store. LambdaAssetCheck installs from the browser you already use, and keeps itself up to date.

Installed, you get an app icon, a window with no tabs or address bar, and — on Windows and Android — icon shortcuts straight to a new inspection or to Home.

Install on laptop or desktop

Use Chrome or Edge.

Open your organisation's LambdaAssetCheck URL and sign in.
Select the install icon at the right of the address bar.
Select Install.

If the address bar shows no install icon, open the browser menu and look for the install option — under Apps in Edge, under Cast, save, and share in Chrome.

Expected result: LambdaAssetCheck opens in its own window, and an icon is added to your desktop or taskbar.

Note: Pinning a browser tab to the taskbar is not the same as installing. A pinned tab still opens inside the browser, with tabs and an address bar.

Install on iPhone or iPad

Use Safari. Chrome and other iOS browsers do not offer this.

Open Safari, go to your organisation's URL, and sign in.
Tap the Share button — the square with an upward arrow.
Scroll the share sheet and tap Add to Home Screen.
Confirm the name, then tap Add.

Expected result: A LambdaAssetCheck icon appears on your Home Screen and opens full screen, not as a Safari tab.

Install on Android

Use Chrome.

Open Chrome, go to your organisation's URL, and sign in.
Open the browser menu (⋮).
Tap Install app, then confirm.

Where both appear, choose Install app rather than Add to Home screen. The second one makes a browser shortcut: its icon carries a small Chrome badge and it opens in a tab. If you end up with one, remove it and install again.

Expected result: A LambdaAssetCheck icon appears in your app drawer and opens full screen.

Limitations

Installing does not put your data on the device. Working offline is a separate step — My account → Offline health → Prepare for offline — and it has to be done before you lose signal.
The install option only appears over HTTPS. If your organisation's URL is not secure, no browser will offer to install it.
Each device and browser installs separately. Installing on your phone does not install it on your laptop.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use LambdaAssetCheck without installing it? Yes — everything works in a normal browser tab. Installing is recommended for field work, where a home-screen icon and a full-screen window earn their place.

How do I remove it? Uninstall it like any other app: from the app window's own menu on a computer, or by removing the icon on a phone. Your account and your data are not affected.
