Install LambdaAssetCheck on your device

LambdaAssetCheck is a Progressive Web App (PWA). You install it from the browser, then open it from your desktop, taskbar, or home screen like an app.

Installing is recommended for field users because it gives the smoothest experience for QR scanning, camera capture, and offline work.

Why install the app

Installing LambdaAssetCheck gives you:

An app icon on your desktop, taskbar, or home screen.
A dedicated app window without normal browser tabs.
Camera access for QR scanning and photo evidence.
Offline support when your device has been prepared before going offline.

Install on laptop or desktop

Use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.

Open your organisation's LambdaAssetCheck URL.
Sign in.
Select the browser's install icon in the address bar, then select Install.

If you do not see the install icon:

In Microsoft Edge, open the menu, then select Apps > Install this site as an app > Install.
In Google Chrome, open the menu, then select Cast, save, and share > Install page as app > Install.

Installing LambdaAssetCheck as a desktop app from the browser

Note: Pinning a browser tab to the taskbar is not the same as installing the PWA. Use the install option to get the app window and offline-ready behavior.

Install on iPhone or iPad

Use Safari.

Open Safari and go to your organisation's LambdaAssetCheck URL.
Sign in.
Tap the Share button (square with an upward arrow).
Scroll the share sheet and tap Add to Home Screen.
Confirm the name, then tap Add.

Expected result: A LambdaAssetCheck icon appears on your Home Screen. Open it to launch the app in its own window (not a normal Safari tab).

Tip: On iPhone and iPad, install must be done from Safari. Chrome and other browsers do not offer the same Add to Home Screen path for PWAs.

Install on Android

Use Chrome or your default browser.

Open the browser and go to your organisation's LambdaAssetCheck URL.
Sign in.
Open the browser menu (⋮) or tap Share.
Tap Install app or Add to Home Screen.
Confirm the install.

Expected result: A LambdaAssetCheck icon appears on your home screen or app drawer. Opening it launches the installed app shell.

Note: Phone install screens vary by browser and OS version. If you do not see Install app, look for Add to Home Screen, or ask your administrator whether your organisation URL is available over HTTPS (required for install and camera access).

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an app store? No. LambdaAssetCheck installs directly from the browser.

Will the app update automatically? Yes. Because LambdaAssetCheck runs from the web, users get the latest version automatically.

Can I use LambdaAssetCheck without installing it? Yes. You can use it in a modern browser. Installing is recommended for field work.
