What Analytics looks like

Sample charts with demo data — same visual language as your dashboard.

Analytics is where you turn operational data into dashboards: inspections and audits, flags, work and tasks, incidents, schedules, assets, and rounds (when enabled). You add pre-built or custom charts, rearrange tiles, drill into the underlying records, and optionally save and share layouts with groups.

Who can do this: anyone whose role includes Analytics. What you can open in drill-down still respects your site and record permissions. Where: Analytics in the sidebar.

Interactive tour

Above this article, sample charts show what a dashboard looks like (demo data, not your organization).

For a hands-on walkthrough on the real Analytics UI — create a dashboard → add a chart → share — open the interactive Analytics tour. The tour uses prefilled sample charts so every step looks populated; nothing is saved to your organization. You can also start it from Help on the Analytics page.

Open Analytics

1. Sign in to LambdaAssetCheck. 2. Select Analytics in the sidebar. 3. You land on your dashboard board — a grid of chart tiles.

Sample Analytics board: chart tiles, period/site filters, and drilling into a segment to see underlying records (demo data only).

Dashboards show live charts for the period and sites you can access — for example completion rate, volume by site, and trends by week. Empty tiles usually mean no matching records in the selected filters, not a missing feature.

Use Help on the Analytics page for a short in-app refresher, the interactive tour for a guided walkthrough, or follow Analytics quick start for a five-minute first chart.

Dashboard filters

At the top of Analytics:

- Period — the date range for flow metrics (counts, rates, averages over time). Presets include last 7 / 30 days, this month, and custom ranges. - Site — limit the board to one site, or leave All sites (within what your role can see).

These filters apply across tiles that use the date range. They do not replace per-chart filters you set when building a custom chart.

How tiles work

Each tile is one chart configuration. Two kinds of time behaviour appear on tiles:

BadgeMeaning
Date range (e.g. Jun 12 – Jul 12)Flow metric — only records in that period
As of todayInventory snapshot — open / overdue / open flags. Ignores the chart date range

Click a segment of a chart (a bar, slice, or row) to open drill-down when the chart supports it — see Drill down into records.

Other common tile shapes include bar charts by site or asset type, and trends over week or month:

Dashboard filters (period and site) apply across tiles. Each tile is one chart — for example completion, volume by site, and trends over time.

Add a pre-built chart

1. Select Add chart. 2. Choose a subject area (Asset inspections, Audits & flags, Incidents, and so on). 3. Browse the catalog of recommended and other pre-built charts. 4. Select Add to dashboard on the chart you want.

Pre-built charts are validated combinations of domain, metric, and attributes. Prefer them when they already answer your question.

Build a custom chart

1. Select Add chart, then open the custom / builder path for your subject area. 2. Choose a domain (data type). 3. Choose a metric (what to measure). 4. Add one or two attributes (group-bys). The first attribute is usually the main axis; the second becomes series or stacking. 5. Optionally add filters that apply only to this chart. 6. Choose a chart type and review the live preview. 7. Save the chart to the dashboard.

The Add a chart panel: start a custom chart, or add a pre-built template to your dashboard (demo view).

Invalid combinations are blocked or hidden in the builder — if a metric and attribute pair is not available, pick another grouping or use a pre-built tile that already encodes a valid combination.

Domains, metrics, attributes, and filters

Think of a chart as answering a question:

> “How many (metric) inspections (domain) by site (attribute), only completed (filter)?”

Customize chart: pick a domain and metric, add attributes (for example Site and Status), then choose a chart type — same builder as the interactive tour (demo data).

Domains

DomainTypical use
InspectionsAsset inspection volume, scores, completion, work raised from inspections
AuditsSite audits and audit flags (severity, flag status, closure)
IncidentsIncident volume, severity, OSHA-style rates where configured
Tasks (Actions)Standalone / miscellaneous tasks and related work metrics
SchedulesScheduled inspections — due, overdue, missed, on-time
AssetsAsset inventory and meter / downtime style metrics
RoundsInspection rounds (when your organization has rounds enabled)

Flags are an Audits concept. Flag severity, flag status, and flag root cause dimensions apply to audit flags, not to inspections or incidents domains.

Metrics

Common metrics include Count, Completion rate, Avg. time to close, Avg. inspection score, Open count, Overdue count, Flags raised, Flag closure rate, and domain-specific rates (missed rate, TRIR, and so on). Hover tooltips in the builder explain each metric.

Attributes

Attributes group results — for example Site, Asset, Asset type, User, Template, Status, Month, Week, Question. Available attributes depend on the domain and metric.

Filters

Filters restrict which records enter the chart. They do not become axes. Use filters when you want “only Completed” or “only Plant A” without plotting every status or site as a series.

Chart types

Typical options:

- Grouped / stacked bar — compare categories or stacked series - Line — trends over Month or Week - Donut — share of a whole (one attribute) - Table — exact values for export-friendly reading

The builder suggests a type from your metric and attributes; you can change it when more than one type is valid.

Arrange, resize, and reset

- Drag a tile by its header to rearrange. - Resize from the left, right, or bottom edge. - Layout on your personal board saves automatically. - Reset to default removes custom charts and restores the starter layout for that view.

On shared dashboards you own, save explicitly after editing so viewers get your latest layout.

Drill down into records

Select a chart segment to open a list of the records behind that value (when drill-down is available for that tile).

- You only see records your role and site access allow you to open. - On company-wide shared dashboards, chart totals may include data you cannot open in drill-down. Totals stay consistent for leadership; the list is permission-filtered.

Save and share dashboards

From Analytics you can save the current layout as a named dashboard and share it with leadership or other groups.

- My dashboards — layouts you created. - Shared with me — dashboards others shared to your groups. - Viewers can use live drill-down; editors (owners) change charts and layout.

Exact labels live under Analytics → shared dashboards / save dashboard actions on the page.

Export

Where available, use Export on a saved dashboard to download a snapshot (for example PDF or presentation formats offered in the UI) for meetings and offline sharing. Exported files are point-in-time; open the live dashboard for current numbers.

Subject areas at a glance

Subject areaUse when you care about…
Asset inspectionsVolume, scores, completion, work created from inspections
Audits & flagsAudit programmes, open flags, severity, closure performance
IncidentsIncident load, severity, follow-up, safety rates
Miscellaneous tasksStandalone tasks (not inspection / flag / incident follow-up)
SchedulesPlanned vs done, overdue and missed scheduled work
AssetsFleet / register and meter-related views
RoundsRound completion and miss rates (if enabled)

Inside Add chart, each area lists recommended pre-built tiles and what they measure.

Tips

1. Start with a pre-built chart; customise only when you need a different grouping. 2. Prefer one attribute first; add a second only when you need series or stacking. 3. Use filters for scope; use attributes for what you want to see as categories. 4. Name charts so a colleague understands them without opening the builder. 5. Remember as-of-today tiles ignore the period filter — that is intentional for open backlog.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my chart empty? Check the period and site filters, whether you have data in that domain, and any chart-level filters that may exclude everything.

Why don’t I see Flags on Inspections? Flag metrics and dimensions belong to Audits. Use the Audits & flags subject area for severity and flag status.

Can I change someone else’s shared dashboard? Only if you own it or have edit rights. Viewers can open tiles and drill down but cannot change the layout.

Does Analytics work offline? Analytics needs a live connection to the server. Field offline work covers inspections and related field flows; open Analytics when you are online.
