Set up scoring
Turn on scoring for one template and set the points each answer can earn, so a completed inspection shows a result you can compare.

Set scores on a template
- Go to Templates → Template Configurations and open Response Types.
- Select Create Response Type. Keep Inspection Type on Asset Inspection, or switch it to Audit.
- Tick Enable scoring.
- Select Add Option until there are at least two answers. Type each answer and a Score of 0 or higher. Give the best answer the highest Score.
- Select Create.
- Go to Templates → Manage Templates. Select Create Template, or open a draft by its name. For a published template, select Edit template in Actions. That opens a draft copy.
- Turn on Enable inspection scoring. The switch sits above Description.
- Choose the response type you created. Select the question, then enter Max Score (0 or higher). That is the most the question can add.
- Tick Exclude from scoring on headings, notes, checkbox questions, and slider questions. Max Score stays hidden while that box is ticked.
- Wait until the status shows Saved, then select Publish.
How points are counted
The answer with the highest Score earns the full Max Score. A lower Score earns the same share. With Multiselect on, selected answers are added together, then capped at Max Score.
Questions hidden by logic are left out of the points earned and the points available.
On completion, the inspection stores points earned, points available, and a percentage. The inspection page and the PDF both show that result.
A finished inspection keeps the score calculated at completion.
If no question can earn points, no percentage is shown.
Limitations
- The builder has no control to make one question count more than another.
- A response type already used on an inspection cannot be edited. Create a new response type and select it on the question.
- Built-in response types are omitted from Response Types. Create your own set when you need a Score on each answer.
- Enable scoring appears when Inspection Type is Asset Inspection or Audit.
- A negative Max Score or Score is rejected. The save stops.
Frequently asked questions
Does the score raise work or a flag?
The score is a result on the inspection. Answer actions still raise work or a flag. See Add conditional logic.
