Add conditional logic

Learn how to add a logic rule to a template question in LambdaAssetCheck, so a matching answer can show a follow-up, require evidence, or raise the follow-up that template type allows.

What you'll need

Tier	Any plan. Logic rules are not gated by plan.
Platform	Web app
Permission	Create or Update under Templates. Owner and Administrator have both by default.
Where	Templates → Manage Templates

The question needs text and a response type.

Add a logic rule

Go to Templates → Manage Templates.
In Actions, open the template.
On the question, select Add logic rules.
Set IF answer and Value. A checkbox uses Checked or not checked.
Under Then, choose one action.
For Ask Questions, write the follow-up and set its response type.
For work or a flag, set Priority or Severity to Low, Medium, High, or Critical. It starts at Medium.
Wait until the status shows Saved, then select Publish.

Important: Opening a published template for edit archives it at once. Existing inspections keep that copy. Publish the draft before new ones start.

Asset	Ask Questions, Require Photo, Require Note, Create Work Request, Create Work Order
Audit	Ask Questions, Require Photo, Require Note, Raise Flag
Incident or SOP	Ask Questions, Require Photo, Require Note

Ask Questions shows the follow-up only when the answer matches. A hidden question is left out of the score.

Work and flags are created when the inspection is completed, from the first matching rule. Require Photo and Require Note must be filled before completion. One template never raises both work and a flag.

Conditions you can test

Response type	Conditions
Text, Asset, or Sites	equals, not equals, is empty, is not empty
Number	equals, not equals, greater than, less than, greater than or equal, less than or equal, between, not between
Multi-choice	equals, not equals, is one of, is not one of
Checkbox	equals for Checked, not equals for not checked

Location, Slider, Media, and Annotation offer equals and not equals.

For between and not between, enter Min and Max. Max must be higher than Min.

Limitations

Date questions do not show Add logic rules.
Issue title, Description, Asset, and Site on an incident template cannot take a rule.
Follow-ups stop at depth 4. At that depth, Ask Questions is disabled and labelled Ask Questions (Max depth).
Meter questions cannot use Ask Questions. On an Asset template they can still require a photo or note, or create work. The last matching work rule is raised.
The builder removes a logic rule that repeats work, a photo, a note, or a flag already set on that multiple-choice option.
SOP stays visible on every plan and is not locked. A Basic organisation cannot save it. Advanced and Professional can.
Finish the open rule before adding another. The control shows (complete existing first) until you do.
